Kids & Dogs Bite Prevention Program
In this educational seminar for children ages 3 to 11, we focus on proper interaction with dogs in various settings. Studies show that most attacks are unintentionally provoked. Our program offers the education to better understand how to appropriately relate to dogs, both familiar and strange, and also when it is not safe to do so. With proper education, the situations that often lead to attacks can be avoided entirely.
In this seminar, we use hands-on demonstrations and interactive media, and provide literature to the children to share with their family and friends. We would expect to present this program in a 2-3 hour time slot, but this time may vary depending on the number of children attending and how many different groups you would like to have. The best place to hold the seminar would be a common area, such as a gymnasium or lunchroom. We also have a format which would be more appropriate for an assembly, however we prefer to present to smaller groups as this gives more opportunity for interaction.
We can also offer this program in our facility for groups that do not have access to their own. Groups such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scout and 4-H clubs can benefit from this aspect. This is an excellent option for earning animal insignia badges.
